Should I see a therapist and what are my options?
Due to the COVID-19 concerns many therapists and psychiatrists in our community are shifting to provide therapy sessions via Telehealth.
Because of the many uncertainties related to the virus l am offering telehealth services to my clients. When more information is available I will tailor sessions according to the needs of my individual clients and utilize “best practices” in the given circumstances.
The Coronavirus crisis comes at a time when many people already experience an elevated baseline of anxiety and fear. Day to day life can be anxiety provoking, even on a good day! When we add in social issues, environmental concerns, personal conflict, changes in the political environment and a pandemic, it certainly ups the ante. As a mental health professional, I am aware of the effects that anxiety, panic, loneliness and social isolation can cause. These emotions can take a big toll on our mental health. During these trying times, we need reassurance and compassion. I believe through human connection, whether it is face to face or video conferencing, we can achieve that.
For everyone's safety at the moment, I am opting for Telehealth but I look forward to in-person sessions as soon as it's possible.
Moving forward I will update my clients with information about my practice, the latest public advisories, and best practices.
Fear and anxiety impacts everyone at some point in their lives, please know you are not alone!

My office is a place where you may feel comfortable to be open, honest and accepted for who you are. We all have unique strengths, struggles, and goals. No one is a diagnosis! I am flexible with my therapeutic style, allowing you to drive the session while offering support, feedback, guidance, and occasionally a little push towards those "ah-ha" moments.
